Phase 1 of the 137th Canton Fair Concludes Successfully; Phase 2 Opens on April 23

The first phase of the 137th China Import and Export Fair (“Canton Fair”) concluded successfully on April 19. Held from April 15 to 19, the event attracted a massive gathering of global buyers, fostering vibrant negotiations and delivering fruitful outcomes for exhibitors and visitors alike.

“Smart Manufacturing in China” Showcases Cutting-Edge Innovation

Focusing on “Advanced Manufacturing,” Phase 1 covered 520,000 square meters of exhibition space, featuring 25,064 booths and 11,304 exhibitors. Highlights included:

  • Over 5,100 premium enterprises recognized as National High-Tech Enterprises, Specialized and Sophisticated SMEs (“Little Giants”), or Manufacturing Industry Champions.

As of April 19, 148,585 overseas buyers from 216 countries and regions attended, marking a 20.2% increase compared to the 135th session. Key regional growth included:

  • Belt and Road Initiative countries: 101,863 buyers (+20.2%).
  • BRICS nations: 38,434 buyers (+23.9%).
  • RCEP member states: 29,530 buyers (+4.1%).
  • Europe and North America: 23,731 buyers (+6.8%).

Phase 1 hosted 768 trade events, including:

  • 204 product launches: 2,500+ on-site attendees and 400,000+ online viewers.
  • 551 “Trade Bridge” sessions: Engaged 3,570+ participants from global trade associations and enterprises.
  • 5 “Discover Canton Fair” livestreams: Attracted 1.73 million+ views.
  • 8 industry forums: Drew 1,500+ attendees.

Upcoming Phase 2: “Quality Living” Focus Running from April 23 to 27, Phase 2 will spotlight home goods, gifts & decorations, and building materials/furniture across 15 exhibition zones. Key details:
