“Innovation, Service, Sharing” Trio — The 140th Canton Fair Promotion Conference in Chile Successfully Held

On September 9, the 140th Canton Fair Promotion Conference was held in Santiago. Mark Qiang, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Chile, Cristian Correa, General Manager of the International Affairs Department of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, and Zhang Sihong, Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Centre, attended and delivered speeches. Representatives from the Chilean Investment Promotion Agency, the Colombian Chamber of Construction, the Lima Chamber of Commerce, and other South American business circles, totaling 160 participants, attended online and offline, reaching 2 neighboring countries—Colombia and Peru—and 23 cities in Chile.

Zhang Sihong, focusing on the three keywords “Innovation, Service, and Sharing,” provided a detailed introduction to the preparations for the 140th Canton Fair, its exhibition scale, and new service measures, sincerely inviting the Chilean business community to attend the Fair in Guangzhou and share platform opportunities. Mark Qiang stated that 20 years after the signing of the China-Chile Free Trade Agreement, bilateral trade volume has grown more than sevenfold. The Canton Fair builds a bridge for mutual benefit, and the upgrading of the Chinese market will bring more win-win opportunities to Chile. The response on site was enthusiastic, and attending Chilean buyers spoke highly of the Canton Fair’s innovative exhibition zones and upgraded services.

During their stay in Chile, the working group also called on the Canton Fair’s global partners, the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and Hongzhan Group, to exchange views on deepening practical cooperation; and visited leading Canton Fair buyers such as Sodimac and Cencosud to research market trends and procurement needs.
