On March 19, the promotion conference for the 139th and 140th Canton Fair was successfully held in Seoul. Ma Fengmin, Deputy Director General of the China Foreign Trade Centre, and Wang Zhilin, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Korea, attended the event and delivered speeches. More than 190 participants attended the event in person, including representatives from the Korean Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, key purchasing enterprises, business organizations, and media outlets, while over 80 participants joined online.
In his speech, Ma Fengmin stated that the Canton Fair, driven by breakthroughs in innovation, excellence in intelligence, and empowerment through green development, has showcased the latest achievements of China’s innovation efforts. It provides a platform for technological exchange, industrial collaboration, and innovation cooperation between Chinese and South Korean enterprises, helping both sides build more stable, efficient, and resilient industrial and supply chains.
The event was held with Seoul as the main venue, while reaching new and existing buyers in cities such as Busan, Incheon, and Daejeon through online channels. In response to market demand in South Korea, the promotion highlighted three key industry sectors—electronics and home appliances, building materials and furniture, and health and leisure—as well as three emerging and future industry zones, including service robots, consumer-grade drones, and smart healthcare.
During the visit to South Korea, the working group also conducted site visits to major purchasing enterprises such as Samsung Electronics, Lock&Lock, and Asia Group, gaining in-depth insights into their procurement intentions and business needs. Discussions were held on deepening areas of cooperation and advancing the innovative development of the Canton Fair.
