Chinese accompanying personnel for overseas buyers at the 138th Canton Fair are categorized as interpreters and assistants. Pre-registration is conducted via the Canton Fair Buyer Service System (buyer.cantonfair.org.cn), open from September 26th to November 4th. Specific participation requirements are as follows:
Part 1: Interpreters for Overseas Buyers
01. Application Requirements
Must hold a People’s Republic of China Resident Identity Card and a translation qualification certificate.
The translation qualification certificate must be one of the following:
1.China Aptitude Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI) certificate.
2.National Accreditation Examinations for Translators and Interpreters (NAETI) certificate.
3.Foreign Language Major graduation certificate from a Chinese mainland institution of higher education.
02. Application Process
1.The applicant submits their translation qualification certificate for review in the system and pre-binds with the accompanying overseas buyer. The review takes 2 calendar days; please apply in advance.
2.After successful pre-binding and approval of the translation qualification certificate, the applicant and the accompanying overseas buyer must go together to the Canton Fair Certification Center (at the exhibition complex) for identity verification. Upon successful verification, the credential can be issued.
03. Fee Standard
The credential fee is RMB 300 per day + a RMB 50 production fee.Refunds are not allowed for credentials that have been used for entry.Refunds are possible for credentials that have not been used for entry.
Part 2: Assistants for Overseas Buyers
01. Application Requirements
Must hold a People’s Republic of China Resident Identity Card.
02. Application Process
The applicant pre-binds with the accompanying overseas buyer in the system.After successful pre-binding, the applicant and the accompanying overseas buyer must go together to the Canton Fair Certification Center (at the exhibition complex) for identity verification. Upon successful verification, the credential can be issued.
03. Fee Standard

Part 3: Quota Requirements
1.Each overseas buyer can bind a maximum of two Chinese accompanying personnel per phase, with only one interpreter and one assistant allowed.
2.Buyers from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as buyers holding Chinese passports, cannot bind an interpreter; they can only bind an assistant, meaning a maximum of one Chinese accompanying personnel per phase.
