A Zhanjiang economic and trade delegation, led by Mr. Li Yongyi, Deputy Secretary of the Zhanjiang Municipal Committee of the CPC and Mayor of Zhanjiang, visited the offices of the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia. The delegation engaged in in-depth economic and trade discussions with Chamber representatives, jointly charting a new blueprint for coordinated development between Guangdong, Saudi Arabia, and Zhanjiang.

During the talks, Mayor Li Yongyi comprehensively introduced Zhanjiang’s development advantages and investment opportunities. He emphasized Zhanjiang’s prime strategic location at the convergence of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Hainan Free Trade Port, and the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. As a provincial sub-central city of Guangdong and a national comprehensive transportation hub, Zhanjiang possesses unique developmental strengths. Mayor Li highlighted the city’s core industrial competitiveness and extended a sincere invitation to the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia and Guangdong-origin compatriots residing in Saudi Arabia. He warmly encouraged entrepreneurs to visit Zhanjiang for inspections and investigations, to explore investment opportunities, and to share in the dividends of Zhanjiang’s high-quality development.
Mr. Zhu Dongmian, President of the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He detailed the entrepreneurial journey of Guangdong-origin compatriots who have diligently cultivated the Saudi and broader Middle Eastern markets, along with the Chamber’s key achievements since its establishment: First, uniting Guangdong-origin compatriots and enterprises in Saudi Arabia to solidify support for their overseas development. Second, providing precise services to Guangdong enterprises in Saudi Arabia, assisting them in connecting with local resources and mitigating operational risks. Third, building a two-way bridge for economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Guangdong and Saudi Arabia, creating an efficient platform for government-enterprise dialogue and project implementation, and continuously promoting the deep-rooted development and market expansion of Guangdong enterprises in the Middle East.
Mr. Guo Xihong, Founding Honorary President of the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, provided Mayor Li Yongyi with a detailed introduction to Dammam, the headquarters of Aramco and the capital of the Eastern Province. He highlighted the high degree of industrial and resource complementarity between Dammam and Zhanjiang, noting significant potential for deeper integration. The Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia will continue to leverage its role as a bridge,link and resource aggregator. It will assist Zhanjiang, in its capacity as a provincial sub-central city, in connecting with the Middle Eastern market. Together, they will strive to write a new chapter of open win-win cooperation in economic trade and mutual appreciation in cultural exchanges between China and Saudi Arabia.
