In her speech, Zhu Yong highlighted the Canton Fair’s innovative development achievements oriented toward “newness, green growth, and intelligence.” She expressed the hope of promoting deeper integration between “China’s No.1 Fair” and the “China-Portuguese-Speaking Countries Platform,” fostering synergy between the Canton Fair’s “new quality productive forces” and Macau’s “diversified transformation,” and generating new synergies by combining the Canton Fair’s “open platform” with Macau’s unique advantages under the “one country, two systems” framework.
Guest speakers unanimously agreed that the Canton Fair plays a positive role in supporting the country’s high-standard opening up. Xie Yongqiang noted that Macau will leverage its advantages in linking domestic and international markets and serving as a “precise liaison” for China-Portuguese-speaking countries trade to promote high-quality development of the convention and exhibition industry. Ma Chi Ieong stated that the Macao Chinese Chamber of Commerce will organize more enterprises from Macau and Hengqin to participate in the Canton Fair, helping them integrate into the country’s “dual circulation” development paradigm. Alex Vong highlighted Macau’s unique advantages as a platform connecting China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Fong Man Tong encouraged next-generation enterprises to use the Canton Fair as a springboard to become two-way pioneers bridging Macau and the mainland.
During its stay in Macau, the working group also paid visits to the China Labor Agency Association (Macau), the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau), the Macao Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the Macao Industrial Association.
